LED Floor Lamps
Modern LED Floor Lamps
An LED or "light emitting diode" is an electronic component which emits light. They do not use a filament light a regular light bulb so they tend to last a lot longer. They also usually do not burn out or break easily, and they use considerably less electricity.
An LED floor lamp provides all the benefits of modern led lighting by implementing multiple small low-wattage LED bulbs into its design. Sometimes this means a single (or multiple) large LED-based "light bulbs" are used, which screw into the socket and can be replaced, each featuring multiple individual LED's. Other designs may directly integrate the modern LED's into the shape and form of the lamp itself.
A tall contemporary LED lamp is a modern and long-lasting choice for any room, particularly helpful as bedroom, dining room or living room lamps.
LED Floor Lamp Benefits
Light Emitting Diodes have none of the flaws in other lighting technology and offer several advantages:
Long Lasting - LEDs last longer, up to 60,000 hours.
Use Less Energy - Very efficient, LEDs use up to 90% less electricity! You get mega-lumens for a low watts, so they are super efficient.
Safe - LEDs contain no harmful gases or materials, and since they don't get hot, have no fire risk.
Dimmable - Most LED lamps are easily dimmable. They can be found in a variety of colors or hues to create the perfect ambiance. You will save on your electric bill, while also saving having to buy replacement light bulbs because they last for many years.
Consistent Color - When an LED dims, it maintains the same "color temperature." (Incandescent bulbs glow more orange as they dim.) Some customers like this feature, some like the warm orange light. Just be aware of this feature.
Output from an LED floor lamp
Usually a floor lamp will provide brighter lighting than table lamps. They are designed to be larger lamps and feature higher wattages or brightness of light. A bright LED floor lamp can light up most of a room with a fairly high level of light, although in a larger room you may want to use two or more lamps.
Since the LED's in an tall standing lamp or pole lamp are electronic devices, they often can also be controlled electronically. Modern controls or remote control units may allow you to adjust the brightness of the lamp, the timing of when it switches on and off, and the color of the light output. By changing the color of the LED output you can change the mood of your room. And by dimming the floor lamp you can set a lower level of light, for example in the evening.
LED lamps for reading?
An LED floor lamp may be in the form of an LED torchiere lamp or styled more towards a traditional floor lamp. Light often will emit at least upwards and outwards, but also sometimes downwards. Consider whether you want more ambient light from an upwards reflected light, or more focused light from a down-light lamp.
