For a chandelier, you'll typically want a small chandelier shade which clips over each of the light bulbs.

These mini lamp shades feature a metal wire frame and the frame extends out from the top of the shade toward the center, and then bends down to form a loop. The loop has two sides, and acts like a clamp, clipping directly onto a light bulb.

The clip-on fitter lamp shades designed for regular rounded light bulbs, for example a typical Edison A9 bulb, are designed to fit specifically to that shape of bulb, and not to the candelabra/torpedo-shaped bulbs.
