A lamp shade is a decorative shade which typically surrounds a light source. Table lamps and floor lamps often use a lamp shade. The shade itself serves multiple functions, directing light upwards for ambient light, and downwards for nearby tasks. The funnel shape also helps heat to escape from the light bulbs. Some light may diffuse through the sides of the shade as well. The shade also protects your eyes from light-bulb glare and can become a part of your room's decorative style. Replacement lamp shades are a great way to refresh a lamp or light fixture. They attach to the lamp usually with a harp or fitter and finial.
A drum lamp shade resembles a barrel or drum shape. The sides of the shade are completely vertical, or near to. They go straight up and down, which means the top and bottom of the drum lampshade are usually about the same size. This produces a somewhat more modern look, and equal amounts of light may emit out the top and bottom of the shade. Due to its cylinder shape, the shade easily allows bulb heat to escape. A cylindrical drum shade coordinates well with modern lamp bases or a base with a clean profile.

Sits on top of a harp or fitter, which is typically attached to a floor or table lamp. Spider-fitter shades sit on top of a harp fitter (a separate item). Uno fitter shades sit below the bulb with the uno fitter above. Clip-on shades clip directly onto the light bulb.
Timely shipping and great quality.
I ordered these lamp shades for two lamps that are very tall. The shades were very well made and the fabric color was a good match for my room. Unfortunately for me they were too big for my bases. When I contacted Lamps USA’s customer service, they had a return label in the mail for me immediately. I had also ordered another shade at the same time that had a stain on it. They immediately sent me a replacement with instructions to donate the stained one. I highly recommend Lamps USA as a company with integrity that stands by it’s products.
It works fine
My Stiffel lamp is 40+ yo and I had no intention of donating it anywhere. It was mine for life because of the quality of the lamp. However, it was in need of a light colored shade. I was lucky to find this WEB site, that had a shade for the large, 30” lamps from the 1950’s. It is perfect and is exactly as advertised. It looks beautiful and the color of light cream is exactly what will fit any furnishings. When the lamp is turned on, the shade updates my room with a beautiful soft light. It was packaged perfect and delivered within a few days. I am over the moon in recommendations for this shade.
Actually, this shade exceeded our expectations. Not only does it look great, but the quality of the shade is better than we antocopated.
I ordered a lampshade for a lamp that’s probably 30+ years old. I was able to find the correct style on this website. I ordered the lampshade & it arrived a couple of days later. It was well packaged & fits our lamp perfectly. Good price & quality product!
I inherited a lamp from my dear old Mom who passed away at 99 years old. This old lamp appears in various old family photos taken over many decades. Interestingly, the lamp appeared in various locations over the years. On different tables, in different places in living room, foyer, etc. When I acquired it, the old shade had disintegrated, the diffuser bowl was missing and the original switch no longer worked. After replacing switch and bowl, finding the proper shade was the last piece of the puzzle. I am very happy with the new shade purchase. High quality, surely in line with the original. Perfect fit. Beautiful!
Truly a lovely shade!
no surprises. Isn't that a good feeling? Shade was fine
My 45 year old brass table lamps needed new shades (or expensive recovering). I had no idea quality lampshades were so affordable. I didn't need to worry about getting the correct shades. Using the Ultimate Buyer's Guide on the Website, I measured my old shades, checked the "drop" and was relieved it was a standard size, and I had plenty of choices. I learned I had a "reflector bowl" and needed a "reflector spider fitter". No problem. Again, plenty of choices. There is no question that Denise cannot answer at Customer Service [****]. I have to admit to a little feeling of accomplishment. My lamps with new shades are something to show off.
