This shade includes an Uno Fitter
The top of this shade is fitted with an `Uno` fitter, designed to fit around the bulb socket. Think of the uno fitter as a spider fitter with a very deep drop which doesn't require a harp. Arms extend from the top edge of the shade to a central ring, deeply recessed down into the center of the shade. A `Slip Uno` fitter sits beneath the light bulb, fastened by the bulb, while a `Threaded Uno` fitter sits above an upside-down bulb, secured by a threaded ring. Threaded Uno fitters are usually used with down-bridge lamps or reading lamps, where the bulb aims downward from above.The shade comes complete with an uno fitter, since it is built into the lamp shade and is not a part of your lamp base. An uno fitter is only replaceable by replacing the lamp shade.

Measuring an Empire-Shaped Lamp Shade
Empire shades are typically measured with three dimensions:- Top: The diameter of the circle at the top of the shade - measure straight across.
- Bottom: The diameter of the circle at the bottom of the shade - measure straight across.
- Slant Height: The diagonal height/length measured in a straight line from the top edge of the shade to the bottom edge. Empire shades feature straight sides, sloped at an angle, so measure flat against the side.
