Light Focusing Iris the IMG Iris serves three important functions.

• First, safety. LEDs are many multiples brighter than the standard incandescent or CFL bulb. Looking directly at an exposed LED will cause damage to the eye.
• Second, eliminating scatter patterns. A LED lamp without an iris will project a pattern of circles on the lighting surface identical to the pattern LEDs in the lamp. The iris diffuses the scattering effect and projects a uniform light onto the work surface.
• Third, focusing the light. The iris focuses and directs the light to the work surfaces.
