Dress a Shade

Dress a Shade Inc. was founded in November 2011 by Laura V. Elrick of Cape Cod MA. Born in 1962 Laura was already a business owner by age 23 employing 20 people. A lifelong artist, in the mediums of paint, pencil sketching, mosaics and murals, Laura trained at the Upper East Side, NY studio of renowned furniture artist Isabelle ONeal. In the last two decades, Laura in her capacity as consultant to interior designers shifted her artistic vision to fabrics.

Lauras first successful consumer product was Design a PurseTM, an interchangeable purse product for children created in 2003. From that concept evolved others and finally Dress a Shade® lampshade Slip Covers were developed to provide an alternative to expensive designer lampshades.

Dress a Shade has already received national attention and mass market success. In August 2011 Dress a Shade was featured in People Magazines, Great Ideas Home Section. In July 2012 Dress a Shade Slip Covers were part of a broadcast of Home Shopping Networks, (HSN) 30 year celebration.
