I must admit, my daughter Becca once thought her dad was pretty cool. But ever since she turned 14, I guess I have become a dork with no taste in music, clothes, or anything else. That's why I could not believe when she complimented my new “Flip” travel lamp! Compact “Transformer” design
You see, I travel on LampsUSA buying trips, and often find myself in a dark airport or shuttle bus, anxious to get to my hotel so I can get some work done. So I bought this compact “flip” travel lamp to give me light when I'm on the road. I liked that it folds up to the size of my old cell phone and fits easily in my briefcase. Becca calls it the “transformer” lamp because it looks so sleek when folded up, then it springs to life when you transform it into a lamp. The telescopic head extends an extra 2” and retracts for storage. But that is not even the best part...
Hybrid Power Supply
I usually am close to an outlet, so I plug in my lamp. But, since the flip lamp runs up to 5 hours on the included rechargeable batteries, I can use it anywhere. When they had a power outage at my hotel in Dallas, I was the only one who could see! Becca says it will be perfect for summer camp. And are you ready for this? You can even charge it from the USB port in your laptop. Becca was even impressed by this handy feature. But the wireless portability still isn't the best part!
I thought the lamp was white, but it was actually Green
Becca always looks for eco-friendly products. I just want something that works. The Flip lamp satisfies us both with 11 bright LED bulbs that use only 10% of the power needed for a normal lamp. The bulbs are supposed to last 100,000 hours, or over 11 years of continual use. My wife likes the fact these LED bulbs are cool to touch, so our youngest can use it. But there is more...

PS: Ok, you have patiently read my review, and I never told you the best part. So here it is. Maybe, just maybe, my 14 year old daughter has regained a little respect for her dad's taste and judgement. I did not expect this to happen for another 8 years! So if a $20 lamp can help bridge a 30 year generation gap, what can it do for you?
