Start with your Outdoor Entry Lights
Always start with the greatest impact area. As guests arrive they will notice your front entry lights, not just guests but everyone who even drives by your home. A well lit front entry makes an inviting and impressive statement and enables you to greet your guests with confidence. If you have single front entry fixture next to your door, consider replacing it with a matching wall lanterns to give your home a great warm look just by replacing your front entry fixtures you can get a "Big Bang for your Buck".
Next, Consider your Foyer Light
Next, upon entering your home, guests take notice of your entry fixtures, so we always consider the foyer chandelier because it is so prominent. Most chandeliers sizing is fine but you need to consider:
- Is it making a statement?
- Do I like the image it presents?
- Is it too small?
- Is the design outdated?
It doesn’t always needs replacing, give a critical analysis if it needs to be change.Usually the size is pretty good; it comes down to taste, style, quality and history. Ask yourself:
- Do I love this piece?
- Did I pick it out or did the builder put in the cheapest cookie-cutter light?
- Is it a classic or just outdated?
Finally look at your Guest Powder Room
This may be a bit of surprise since It is small and not really "on display.”
Why this room?
Think about it. When guests use your powder room they usually are alone, with plenty of time to scrutinize your décor. Most powder rooms have one or 2 lights, so it is an easy upgrade, and since it's a small room it you won't cost a lot of money.
